JJL’s objective is to develop and execute projects in diversified segments, such as belt conveyors mechanical and structural calculations, heavy boilers, metal structures and DEM simulations (material flow analysis), all of which strictly following national and international standards, ensuring quality and meeting deadlines.

DEM ANALYSIS AND SIMULATIONS

Material transfer chutes, are critical points of any operation, if not correctly designed. Discrete element modeling has been successfully used in industry to simulate various processes. The advantages of using this technology are immense, as it is possible to visualize in detail the flow of materials within boilers, anticipating possible problems in the flow, mapping areas of wear, capturing the actions of impact on the sides or their internal pressures, among other benefits. With this simulation, JJL can design sacrifice or wear parts, with programmed, quick, and safe replacement.

SPECIALIZED TRAINING

JJL values the training and qualification of professionals, therefore, it develops training programs in Application Engineering Topics, aimed at the dissemination of structural and mechanical theories in the areas of material handling and storage.

Studies of acidental avalanches of material

Study of the variation of internal pressures in silos, chutes and hoppers during accidental avalanches of material.

Capturing these actions is fundamental for the dimensioning of the silo structure itself, but mainly for its support structure.

Observation of flow in silos

Within the scope of Rocky – Ansys or DEM – FEA couplings, we can validate the behavior of the material in a silo with the technical literature available, such as the Australian Standard AS 3774—1996.

Chute designs for material alignment on the receiving belt

Settling studies are designed to combat one of the root causes of conveyor belt misalignment. Among the numerous advantages of simulating continuous material flows is to anticipate the profile of these materials on the receiving conveyors, and thus correct misalignments, impacts and poor distribution of the material transported on the belts.

Feed simulation of a primary crushing

JJL, with its analysts, can simulate the behavior of entire areas where the material flow can be studied, and the process equipment adjusted to its behavior.

SMART CHUTES

It is a transfer concept, developed and patented by JJL, which recognizes that industries must operate with high performance, safety, reliability and efficiency. By mapping wear zones, SMART CHUTES are designed to enable minimal, quick and safe interventions due to the development of modularized wear or sacrifice parts, without the need to expose employees to confined and unhealthy environments.

MATERIAL CALIBRATION

Regardless of the type or objective of the study to be performed, it is essential not only the physical understanding of the adopted properties, but also calibrating and parameterizing these data in the simulated models. Field visits, with clients and their employees, to collect data and observe the flows to be studied are as important as the laboratory tests that may be presented.
